Pulp Live World proudly announces the full international line-up of Pulp Summer Slam 18 : Of Good and Evil. This is the 18th edition of Southeast Asia’s longest-running metal festival taking place on May 5, 2018 at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City.
The line-up boasts of 10 international bands, making it the largest international roster in the festival’s history. Headlining the event are metal gods Behemoth, At The Gates and Cradle of Faith while supporting acts Death Angel, Crown The Empire, Jinjer, Attila, Crystal Lake, Nervecell and Secrets complete the globally diverse list.
Making their Manila debut is Poland’s blackened death metal legends BEHEMOTH. The band is currently comprised of guitarist and vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski, drummer Zbigniew “Inferno” Promiński, bassist Tomasz “Orion” Wróblewski, and guitarist Patryk “Seth” Sztyber. With their albums like Satanica, Demigod, and their most recent The Satanist, not only did they have a significant role in the development of the Polish underground metal scene, but also extreme metal as a whole.
Also making their Manila debut is Sweden’s AT THE GATES. One of the bands that were at the forefront of the melodic death metal movement with their seminal albums Terminal Spirit Disease and Slaughter of the Soul, the band is currently comprised of vocalist Tomas Lindberg, drummer Adrian Erlandsson, bassist Jonas Björler, rhythm guitarist Martin Larsson, and lead guitarist Jonas Stålhammar.
After giving their Filipino fans a taste of their brand of symphonic black metal back in Pulp Summer Slam XV: Angels Descend, England’s CRADLE OF FILTH – who are hot on the heels of their latest full-length Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay – are making their much-awaited return. The band is currently comprised of vocalist Dani Filth, drummer Martin “Marthus” Škaroupka, bassist Daniel Firth, keyboardist Lindsay Schoolcraft, guitarist Richard Shaw, and guitarist Marek “Ashok” Šmerda.
For the supporting acts, two more bands are about to make their return to the Slam. Thrash metal legends DEATH ANGEL, who are known for their anthems “Bored,” “Thrown to the Wolves,” and “Truce” among others, are coming back for the fourth time, while Dubai-based technical death metal band NERVECELL, who just came out with their latest album Past, Present… Torture, will be coming back for the second time. Also in the line-up are acts that are making their Slam debut. Hailing from Ukraine, JINJER is a progressive metal band with hard-hitting hardcore and groove metal influences.
From Japan comes CRYSTAL LAKE, known for their djent-infused metalcore sound. Hailing from America are metalcore bands SECRETS, CROWN THE EMPIRE, and ATTILA. Secrets are known for their equally melodic and heavy sound, while Crown The Empire have caught the attention of many with their anthemic hard rock leanings. Attila have amassed a strong following across the globe with the integration of rap in their sound and their uncompromising and noholds-barred attitude.
