Carly Rae Jepsen provides an ’emotional’ concert experience at Smart Araneta

Fans had a ‘Good Time’ with the peppy Vancouver-based pop star

Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen performed a very special show for her Filipino fans on September 14, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, where she sang tracks from her released third studio album Emotion.

As the charmed audience welcomed her enthusiastically, the peppy 29-year-old pop star came out wearing a black tank top and black leather pants.

She opened with her current single, “Run Away With Me,” with the audience singing along to every word – a trend that continued with each song that followed. From “Making the Most of the Night,” “Warm Blood,” “Your Type,” “Let’s Get Lost,” “LA Hallucinations,” “All That” and the title track, which received the most flattering response, Carly Rae energized the crowd as she danced around the stage without missing a beat.

And true to her fan base, the Cinderella star shared stories about her previous love interests and break-ups. She sang “Gimmie Love,” a song she revealed as one of her favorites from her current album.

Carly Rae also delighted the crowd as she performed a few of her greatest pop hits from her 2012 album Kiss, including “Good Time,” “This Kiss,” “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” and “Curiosity.”

Of course, the evening would not be complete with her singing her newest hit, “I Really Like You” along with an obligatory rendition of one of the greatest pop songs of all time — “Call Me Maybe.”

“There is one song in my repertoire that I have sung more than any other and I would like to do that song for you but in trade, you have to do it with me,” she beamed. And the fans loved it.

Call Me Maybe” has sold more than 9.1 million singles worldwide, spent a record breaking 9 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, and has inspired and triggered numerous parodies.

“I need to tell you something,” Carly Rae crooned on her new hit song, “I Really Like You,” before breaking out into the familiar chorus: “I really, really, really, really, really, really like you.”

Overall, Carly Rae Jepsen’s amazing stage presence and high-energy, along with the enthusiasm of the crowd coalesced for a truly exceptional, emotional concert experience.
