The Grammy-nominated pop singer and songwriter Charlie Puth has released a new track “Attention” and unveiled plans for his sophomore album, a follow-up to his platinum certified debut album, Nine Track Mind.

“You just want attention / You don’t want my heart / Maybe you just hate the thought of me with someone new / Yeah, you just want attention / I knew from the start / You’re just making sure I’m never gettin’ over you,” Puth sings on the track, which is now available to stream and download at all online retailers and services.

Recently named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” ranking, Puth premiered the new single via an immersive music experience dubbed “The Attention Room,” which is located at 8017 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

The Attention Room features a spectacular LED infinity tunnel, soundtracked by “Attention,” with visuals that were designed to replicate the brain’s reaction to receiving attention. As a result, The Attention Room experience creates a rush of excitement and joy, similar to the feelings inspired by the new single itself.

A worldwide phenomenon

A gifted and charismatic live performer, Puth has proven a hugely popular concert attraction, with last year’s “Nine Track Mind Tour” selling out nearly every date within 30 minutes of its announcement. As if that weren’t enough, Puth has made a number of show-stopping TV appearances, such as FOX’s 2016 Teen Choice Awards, NBC’s TODAY and The Voice, CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and 2015 American Music Awards.

Puth’s latest single is certain to be a live-show highlight in his upcoming North American tour. The dates – which see Puth performing as special guest to Shawn Mendes’ Illuminate World Tour – begin July 6th at Portland, OR’s MODA Center and then travel through late August.

There’s no release date or name yet for Puth’s next LP, the follow-up to his RIAA platinum certified debut album, which produced the top 40 smashes, “One Call Away” and “Marvin Gaye (feat. Meghan Trainor),” as well as the platinum certified “We Don’t Talk Anymore (feat. Selena Gomez).”

The album also reached #1 on iTunes charts in 28 countries around the globe, earning platinum and gold certifications in the UK, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, France and Philippines, where Puth proved the year’s fourth greatest international seller behind David Bowie, Adele, and Coldplay.
