Christmas came early as the legendary Pat Boone gave his own interpretation of classic holiday tunes plus his timeless hits to an enthusiastic crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Brought to you by Ovation Productions, this 90 minute journey through Pat’s 50 years of number 1 hits started with the song “Ain’t that a Shame,” “Tutti Frutti,” “Speedy Gonzales” and then slowing down the tempo with his ballads “April Love,” “Love Letters in the Sand,” among others. He also serenaded a 92 year old by bringing her a bouquet of flowers while singing one of his love songs.
Halfway thru the show, Pat brought in the Christmas spirit with several medleys featuring “Jingle Bells,” “White Christmas,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”
Supported by the CCF Choir and an 8 piece horns section(by the AMP Big Band), he then wrapped up the night with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

There was never a dull moment as Pat Boone really engaged the audience especially with his stories of the early days of rock and roll. For a performer in his 80’s, he did put on a show that will be remembered for a long time.
