It was a night to remember for Lifehouse fans as they get a throwback treat from the California rockers, after they made a stop in Manila and performed live at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Thursday night, October 8.

Composed of lead vocalist Jason Wade, bass guitarist Bryce Soderberg, Steve Stout on guitar and Rick Woolstenhulme Jr. on drums, the band has been to Manila on other occasions, in 2008 and 2012.

This was their third time to visit the country but they always get the fans giddy, concert grounds always filled to the brim, and always getting an ecstatic kind love from the Filipinos.

Lifehouse delivers superlative show

Jason Wade made sure the fans feel the love by addressing the crowd “we tell our friends, our favorite place to play in the world is Manila.”

There was less banter in between, but they surely let their music do the talking. From their hit songs “You And Me,” “Sick Cycle Carousel,” “Whatever It Takes,” “For the First Time,” “Everything,” even their unfamiliar verses, the audience obviously draw a profound connection – singing and feeling every word in the lyrics, with the beam lights matching the feels. Jason Wade’s soulful voice even mesmerized the fans, while Bryce bopping around the stage, doing his antics with his bass guitar.

They left the audience hanging after they sang “Broken” – thinking it was their finale when they walked out the stage and thanked the crowd. But no one left the arena; everyone’s craving for more, cheering for the band to come back on stage. Predictable as it may seem, it was just segue to their finale hit song “Hanging By A Moment,” the band’s first single in 2001 which raised them to international fame. The arena erupted in cheers and excitement, everyone’s in standing ovation, singing their heart out.

For more than a decade, Lifehouse has been serenading us with their songs about love, heartbreaks, losing someone, faith, survival and moving on – songs which have surely left a mark on every heart of Pinoy fans.
