Cher gets ‘Activated’ for new album: Listen
British-born and internationally acclaimed pop songstress Cher Lloyd is taking back the reigns with the release of her sensational new track “Activated” for her upcoming third album.
Described as “fierce” and “revved-up” by Rolling Stone Magazine, the single has already garnered more than 140k of plays in less than 24 hours, with its title #activated trending worldwide on Twitter.
“I’ve waited two years to have creative control of my own career and finally do things my way,” explains sassy Cher. “Returning with new music and releasing ‘Activated’ is such a huge deal for me. I’ve been working hard on new music and I cannot wait to reveal more to you all!” She continues. “Now I’m ready to roll my sleeves up and show you all what I’m really made of, and to all of you who have stood by me since the start of my career, I promise you, this is just the beginning.”
“Activated” is now available worldwide on all digital platforms. Get “Activated” on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and Deezer.

“I’m charged up. I’m getting activated,” the 22-year-old proclaims in the opening lines of her latest release. And activated she is, having taken a few years out of the spotlight (since the release of her hit single “Really Don’t Care” with Demi Lovato in 2014), Cher has been working hard in the studio, writing and recording new material in Los Angeles and is now ready to show the world what she’s really made of.
With an army of die-hard fans and a cool 7.47 million followers on Twitter, 7.46 million on Facebook and 2 million on Instagram, Cher has certainly come a long way from the small town of Malvern, Worcestershire where she was born.
Following a childhood of singing and “intentionally trying to stand out from the crowd at school,” she achieved international popularity at age 17. Throughout the next six years, she traversed the globe and dropped one hit after another.
Unabashed and unfiltered honesty powers the young artist and her new material coming out in 2016. Her instantly recognizable powerhouse voice has ignited multiplatinum smashes such as “Want U Back”, “Oath” [feat. Becky G], and Demi Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care” in addition to 2011’s Sticks & Stones and 2014’s Sorry, I’m Late. But now, with six years in the spotlight, the world truly gets a glimpse of her for the first time, with the reveal of “Activated” out now.
