The Maine Returns to Manila for a Nostalgic Comeback

A long-awaited return of a band called The Maine to Manila finally happened.

The quintet from Arizona, John, Kennedy, Garrett, Pat and Jared continues to be a constant crowd-favorite among Filipino fans. Returning for the eighth time since 2011, the band proves why they got a second home halfway across the world.

The Maine opened their set to a sold-out crowd with their 2020 single, Sticky. Then they served the fans an all-out nostalgia with “Like We Did (Windows Down)” from their first-ever self-made album, Pioneer. This is followed by the heart-pumping “Numb Without You”. The night continues with performances of old songs like “Am I Pretty?,” “Slip The Noose,” “Taxi,” “How Do You Feel?,” “Diet Soda Society,” “Don’t Come Down,” “Bad Behavior,” and “Black Butterflies and Deja Vu”. 

When “We All Roll Along” played, everyone at the Skydome sang in unison to the lines ‘8123 Means Everything To Me’, that represents a big part of the band’s 15 year history. 

The set wouldn’t be complete without the new masterpieces from the band, “High Forever,” “Dirty, Pretty, Beautiful,” and the latest track featuring Taking Back Sunday and Charlotte Sands, “Loved You A Little”. A special performance was also given by the group for their upcoming track “Box in a Heart”.

It was sure unforgettable a lucky fan named Lance, who were able to play the guitar with The Maine for the song, “Run”. It will also be remembered as the night when Manila got The Maine to sing ‘Into Your Arms’ in 2022.

They concluded their set with “Another Night On Mars”, a song dear to the all the fans, especially those who have found friends for keeps through The Maine over the last 15 years.
