The Raes All Fired Up, Unveils Debut Single ‘Two Left Feet’

For Eva delos Santos and daughters Monique and Ana, It’s a Family Affair

The music company that brought you Somedaydream and Luigi D’Avola is now gearing up for a new release. Enter The Raes, a Cebu-based trio composed of singers-instrumentalists Monique, Anna and Eva delos Santos.

“As a mom, I brought up my children in an environment where there is always music involved in our daily lives. As they grew older, they showed interest in the performing arts, most specifically singing. Last year, when Champ of Hale formed The Raes as a band, I was overwhelmed, excited and nervous at the same time. Champ saw the potential in us, and without hesitation went all out to get it working. I can’t thank him enough for believing in us,” Eva professes. “It is a different vibe when I’m surrounded with young, excited and driven young talents. Performing with my daughters Ana and Monique is great pride and joy. I look forward to a busy year ahead. I count my blessings, and this is definitely on top of the list right now.”

Mecca Music CEO and Hale frontman Champ Lui Pio tells MNL Online he is very picky when it comes to signing new artists. “The Raes is the third artist I’m managing in the last five years and I see a huge potential in them. I believe this band has a lot to offer in the music scene and I’m just excited for people to hear them.”

Voice of an Angel

Ana first came to Champ’s attention after he discovered her singing prowess last year. Right then and there, he decided to form the trio. “When I heard her sing for the first time, I was completely blown away. She is very talented. Can’t believe she’s only 16! Not only does she sing like an angel, but she plays multiple instruments and co-writes with her sister Monique.”

Ana beams, “I’m very excited for this opportunity because not only will I be able to do what I love the most, but also because I will be doing this with my family.”

Ray of Hope

The band’s debut single “Two Left Feet” is now available on iTunes and Spotify. Also, a music video, which was shot in Dauis, Bohol will premiere next week.

“I have been trying in the music industry for quite a while now, from auditioning to Star Circle Quest, to going to different recording companies hoping to land a record deal, to auditioning for American Idol, X Factor (U.S.) and The Voice of the Philippines. It was after college when I decided again to give it a full go. Working with my mom and sister Ana started at first in Cebu when we were offered gigs together. The Raes was definitely an unexpected plan for me. I have to say it is way better than what I originally planned for myself,” Monique shares.

She concludes, “I see The Raes as a ray of hope not just for me, but for my mom and sister as well. I am so proud to have a wonderful mother who can sing beautifully and has experienced a lot as a singer. We do learn a lot from her. She is our mentor and what keeps the band together. Ana has so much promise and I am grateful to have her here on this journey with us.”
