Vilmark unveils emotional single “INOWY” under GMA Music
Singer-songwriter and GMA Music artist Vilmark is kicking off 2024 with another heart-rending song titled “INOWY” (I’m Not Okay Without You) on January 26 under GMA Music, across major digital platforms worldwide.
The soul-stirring track is a powerful ballad about dealing with loss and finding the strength to move forward.
“INOWY” is a sequel to Vilmark’s sophomore single “Lisan,” the song he wrote when his father passed away in December 2022. “Lisan” was about feeling the loss and having many questions, while “INOWY” is about acceptance. It is about accepting and acknowledging the loss, that it’s okay and acceptable to admit that you’re not okay. Because it’s a phase that you need to go through to move forward and start anew. Until you accept the reality that you’re not okay, you’ll keep masking your true feelings. I wrote this song from a place of pain, but I hope it can bring comfort and hope to others who are going through tough times. It’s okay not to be okay, but it’s important to remember that we
are not alone,” shares Vilmark.On the song “Lisan”: “This is actually personal since ito ay tungkol sa father ko pero gusto ko rin maka-relate lahat ng listeners na naiwanan, kung meron mang nag-part ways, and may mga mahal sa buhay na ‘di na nila kasama ngayon. Gusto ko ipaabot na it’s okay to grieve at maramdaman ‘yung lungkot pero we need to move forward and let’s hope na whatever is happening in our lives, there’s a reason for it. Now, I feel like I’m stronger as a person and we need to be stronger para sa mga taong kasama natin. ‘Wag tayong mawawalan ng pag-asa dahil lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay natin ay may dahilan.”
Vilmark’s earlier composition “Lisan” was also selected by Jennylyn Mercado for her latest GMA Prime series “Love. Die. Repeat.” with Xian Lim. Vilmark expressed his gratitude for the unexpected opportunity, “I was so excited. I watched Ms. Jennylyn sing the song on All-Out-Sundays. She told me that it was a beautiful song and was perfect for ‘Love. Die. Repeat.’”
Despite working as a full-time engineer on a night shift, Vilmark continues to balance his professional life with his passion for music. The artist looks forward to the future, expressing the desire to release more singles, work towards a full album, and dreams of having his own concert. Vilmark’s dream collaboration is with Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, and he hopes to write a duet with her.
