For some folk in the country, the barbershop is a place you go to on a Sunday, get a haircut, and just walk out right after. There’s rarely a legit reason to have a personal connection to your barber other than knowing that he’s the only one that knows how to properly handle your hair, nor any other reason, to stay and actually spend the day in the barbershop. There wasn’t a reason to hang out with your buddies in the shop, and there definitely was no way to get your grub on while having a couple of drinks. All of this changed in the boom of personalized barbershops in the late 2000s. A lot of discerning gentlemen started learning where to go, but there was still something missing: the feeling of really wanting to stay after you get your hair done.
Enter Undefeated Barbershop x Bar.
Rustic, yet classy, Undefeated presents itself as a combination of both a barbershop and a bar. Located in Maginhawa, Quezon City, Undefeated is truly one of a kind. They have this old school feel when you head into the shop, yet seeing the big screen TVs, the Playstation 4, bottles of hard liquor, and fridges full of beer and soda would make you think that they’re really trying to do something out of the ordinary, and truly is.
With four chairs dedicated to services for the older crowd, plus a special chair for toddlers, it’s pretty imaginable for a whole barkada, or a father who’s taking his son out for his first haircut, to spend more time than usual in the shop.
You wanna play video games? They’ve got you covered with very up to date and current selections such as NBA 2K18 and Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite. Think it’s only your girlfriend and her girls that can spend a whole day in a spa to just hang around and chill? Think again.
Undefeated has a bar area where you can sit down, order drinks, get some food, and just hang out while everyone in your crew gets their hair cut. Undefeated also offers manicure and pedicure services, so if you think you’re too manly for those services, maybe watching Marshawn Lynch of the Oakland Raiders get a mani-pedi might change your mind.
Overall, Undefeated Barbershop x Bar manages to be something different and creative while maintaining what they are: a down home, warm and welcoming barbershop that caters to every service today’s discerning gentleman needs. The prices are just right, and their barbers are more than experienced, but still young enough to cater to whatever hairstyle rides the wave of a new trend.
Come and check them out at 80 Maginhawa Street, Quezon City, and, certainly, your first visit won’t be your last.
